Our Philosophy

Get back to sport.
The right way.

Sports rehab is not just about healing โ€” it's about rebuilding performance. Returning to sport too early is one of the leading causes of re-injury. Returning too late costs you months of competitive time. The goal is the exact right pace, driven by objective strength and movement benchmarks โ€” not a calendar date.

At Cowboy Healthcare, we use sport-specific movement analysis, strength symmetry testing, and evidence-based return-to-sport criteria to guide every milestone. Whether you're recovering from surgery or a significant soft-tissue injury, we track your progress with measurable data, not guesswork.

We treat athletes of all levels โ€” youth sports, recreational leagues, masters competitors, and elite performers. Every program is built around your sport, your position, and your goals.

Injuries We Treat

Whatever the sport,
whatever the injury

๐Ÿฆต

ACL & Knee Reconstruction

Comprehensive ACL rehab with strength symmetry milestones, neuromuscular re-training, and sport-specific functional testing before return-to-play clearance.

๐Ÿ’ช

Rotator Cuff & Shoulder

Throwing athletes, overhead athletes, and post-surgical shoulder patients receive progressive strengthening and biomechanical correction to protect the rebuilt shoulder.

๐Ÿฆถ

Ankle Sprains & Instability

Grade Iโ€“III sprains and chronic ankle instability. Proprioceptive training and sport-specific agility progressions to prevent recurrence.

๐Ÿ”„

Overuse & Stress Injuries

Runner's knee, shin splints, stress fractures, IT band syndrome, and tendinopathies. We identify the biomechanical cause and fix it โ€” not just the symptom.

๐Ÿˆ

Concussion & Head Injury

Post-concussion vestibular and cervicogenic rehab as part of a full return-to-play protocol. We coordinate with your medical team for clearance criteria.

โšก

Hamstring & Hip Flexor Strains

Graded return to running, cutting, and explosive movement through eccentric strengthening and neuromuscular control work specific to your sport demands.

Return-to-Sport Protocol

Milestone-based.
Not calendar-based.

01
Injury & Baseline AssessmentFull evaluation of the injury, movement screen, strength testing, and sport demands analysis. We set objective baseline measurements to track progress against.
02
Tissue Healing PhaseProtect and promote healing while maintaining cardiovascular fitness and strength in unaffected areas. Early range-of-motion work begins as tolerated.
03
Strength & Neuromuscular ControlProgressive loading, balance training, and movement pattern correction. We don't advance until symmetry benchmarks are met โ€” typically 85โ€“90% limb symmetry for lower extremity.
04
Sport-Specific TrainingRunning mechanics, cutting, jumping, throwing, or rotation depending on your sport. We replicate the demands of competition in a controlled, progressive setting.
05
Return-to-Sport ClearanceObjective functional testing, psychological readiness assessment, and coach coordination. You return when the data says you're ready โ€” not when a fixed timeline expires.

What our patients
are saying

โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…

"Torn labrum surgery in November. I was terrified I'd never throw again โ€” I pitch at a competitive amateur level. The sports rehab program was brilliant, all throwing mechanics and progressive load, and I'm back on the mound at 100%."

"Runner with a tibial stress fracture. The return-to-running protocol here was based on actual science โ€” gradual load progression with proper biomechanics assessment. I came back stronger and with better running form than before the injury."

Megan O. Tibial Stress Fracture ยท March 2026

"College basketball player with a hamstring strain. They didn't just let me rest โ€” they trained around it and I stayed in shape while it healed. Return-to-play testing was thorough and gave me real confidence going back."
